Preparing for our First Class

The date is to be determined, but it should be in the next few months. The class will be a six week course called, "Introduction to Computer Programming". It will cover topics such as how to write a program, how to make the computer run your program, variables, program flow, and introduction to Object Oriented programming.

The nice thing about our class is that it assumes you have no experience in programming. You also don't have to worry about grades - we don't grade. Turning in your program assignments is optional, but recommended if you want to get helpful feedback. If you don't "get it" you can always try again when the course repeats. There is no charge for the course, but donations of $1 to $10 are accepted at each class meeting. We will meet once (or twice if there is enough interest) per week for two hours, and course materials will be handed out at each class. Program help will be provided through email, and through our forum so that club members can share ideas and help each other.

We assume you have a computer to use at home, but if not, come to the class anyway. We are working out a way to give access to computers during or after the classes. Also, we are trying to find other means of providing computer access. If you have comments, questions, or suggestions, please email us or visit our forum.
