Getting Started is a lot of work!

But we feel it's worth it!

When we got the idea to start clubHackz we decided to do it right - at least as far as state regulations are concerned. Fortunately, rules for starting a small business in Iowa are not much different from starting one in Texas (Ray is from Texas and only recently moved to Iowa). So, we registered our trade name in Cerro Gordo county, we have a tax permit, and we're looking for a place for general meetings and classes.

Ray is also busying himself writing a lesson plan for the first class. It's a tough assignment because we want to start this effort with something that might interest local students. Our first class will be a six-week "Introduction to Computer Programming."

We're also getting this site together. We need to create a dynamic site to allow for easier updates to News, Events, and Resources. Currently, the site pages are static and have to be edited directly.

On the bright side, everything is coming together. Ray ordered his business cards. This site is somewhat complete (meaning, "all the pages have some content"), so we'll be putting out flyers and getting the word out soon. Ray already has a few friends and co-workers interested in the class. If you're interested in joining the club, or have any questions, comments, suggestions, etc. please email us or visit our forum.
